U.S. TO LAUNCH JOINT WORKING GROUPS WITH ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN BY YEAR’S END

by October 29, 2025

The United States government has announced plans to establish the first joint working groups with Armenia and Azerbaijan before the close of this year. This initiative stems from commitments made under recent bilateral agreements.

According to an official statement, Washington remains dedicated to advancing cooperation with both nations, building on joint declarations and memoranda of understanding signed earlier. The formation of these working groups is seen as a key step in implementing those accords.

U.S. officials also expressed encouragement regarding the ongoing dialogue between Yerevan and Baku, highlighting recent practical measures taken by both sides. Recent talks on border demarcation, demining operations, and infrastructure development—particularly in support of regional connectivity projects—were noted as positive developments.

Additionally, the recent authorization by Azerbaijan for cargo transit to Armenia, along with a meeting of civil society representatives from both countries held in Yerevan, were welcomed as confidence-building steps.

U.S. leadership in these efforts is expected to help attract private investment and support a new phase of economic growth and regional stability.
