Former U.S. President Donald Trump has commenced an official three-day visit to Japan, marking his first trip to the country since returning to the White House. The visit, which began on October 27, will include high-level meetings with newly appointed Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Emperor Naruhito.
This represents Trump’s fourth presidential visit to Japan overall and his initial diplomatic engagement with the Asian nation during his current term. His previous presidential visit occurred in June 2019 when he attended the G20 summit hosted in Osaka. The current itinerary focuses on bilateral discussions between the two longstanding allies.
