Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor has been handed an 18-month suspension after failing to comply with the organization’s anti-doping policy. The penalty stems from multiple missed drug tests throughout 2024.
The 37-year-old fighter violated UFC regulations by not providing accurate location information for surprise testing, resulting in three missed sample collections on June 13 and September 19-20, 2024. Under standard procedures, such violations typically carry a two-year suspension.
McGregor’s cooperation with the Combat Sports Anti-Doping program led to a reduction in his penalty. By providing detailed information about the circumstances surrounding his testing failures, the Irish fighter secured a six-month reduction from the standard 24-month suspension period.
The suspension period began on September 20, 2024, and will conclude on March 20, 2026, preventing the former champion from competing during this timeframe.
McGregor, who previously held both featherweight and lightweight titles, last competed in 2021 when he faced Dustin Poirier. His professional record stands at 22 wins against 6 losses in mixed martial arts competition.
