The Czech Republic has elected a new parliament following nationwide voting on October 4, with final results now confirming the political landscape for the coming four-year term.
Andrej Babiš’s ANO movement emerged as the clear winner in the parliamentary elections, securing 34.51% of the vote according to official tallies. This translates to 80 seats in the 200-member Chamber of Deputies. Voter participation reached nearly 69% in the electoral process that featured competition among thousands of candidates.
The center-right “Spolu/Together” coalition captured second position with 23.36% support, earning them 52 parliamentary seats. The “STAN/Mayors and Independents” movement followed in third place with 11.23% of the vote, resulting in 22 mandates.
Five political groups total managed to cross the electoral threshold required for parliamentary representation. The newly constituted lower house will now begin the process of forming a governing coalition to lead the Central European nation.
