A comprehensive 20-point peace initiative for Gaza has been presented by the White House, outlining a potential path to end the ongoing conflict. The proposal includes several key provisions aimed at establishing lasting stability in the region.
Under the terms of the plan, the Gaza enclave would not be occupied or annexed. The area would be designated a demilitarized zone, ensuring it poses no security threat to neighboring states. A critical component requires the release of all hostages within 72 hours of the agreement’s public acceptance.
Following the hostage release, Israel would free 250 prisoners and 1,700 Gaza residents detained since October 2023. The United States would subsequently facilitate direct negotiations between Israeli and Palestinian representatives to establish a framework for peaceful coexistence and future political arrangements.
The proposal stipulates that immediate cessation of hostilities would follow mutual acceptance of these terms by both parties.
