MOSCOW – The Kremlin has characterized recent comments by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Ukraine as emotionally charged but understandable, according to statements from Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov indicated that Trump’s approach to Ukrainian settlement discussions reflects Washington’s continued political commitment to resolving the conflict. “We recognize that the United States, and President Trump personally, maintain efforts to advance the Ukrainian settlement process,” the Kremlin representative stated. “Naturally, President Trump approaches this matter with considerable emotion, which is quite comprehensible.”
