TRUMP DEMANDS NATO HALT RUSSIAN OIL PURCHASES TO END UKRAINE WAR

by September 13, 2025

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a letter to NATO members and global allies demanding an immediate halt to Russian oil purchases, stating he will only support “serious” sanctions against Russia if all alliance members comply.

In the correspondence, Trump argued that NATO’s current approach has significantly weakened its negotiating position with Russia. He declared readiness to act when other members agree to his proposal, describing the conflict as “Biden’s and Zelensky War” that could be resolved swiftly through collective action.

The President warned that continued inaction would waste American “time, energy and money,” while suggesting that coordinated sanctions could leverage China’s influence over Russia to destabilize the Russian government through economic pressure.
