ARMENIAN MIDFIELDER VOWS TEAM WILL IMPROVE AFTER TOUGH LOSS

by September 7, 2025

YEREVAN – Following a disappointing home defeat, Armenian national team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan has pledged that the squad will address its shortcomings ahead of the upcoming qualifying match.

Speaking after the match at Republican Stadium, Spertsyan acknowledged the team anticipated a challenging fixture but expressed disappointment at conceding multiple goals, even against a top-tier opponent like Portugal.

“We’re going to work on fixing our mistakes and prove ourselves in the next game,” the Krasnodar player stated. He specifically thanked supporters for creating a strong atmosphere and standing behind the team during the difficult match.

Spertsyan emphasized the team is currently in a rebuilding phase, expressing confidence that the squad will soon demonstrate its progress to both supporters and themselves.

The Armenian side will next face Ireland on September 9 in what represents a crucial opportunity to rebound from the recent setback.
