A comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the legendary French-Armenian singer and actor Charles Aznavour has launched in the Armenian capital, presenting nearly 250 unique artifacts that trace the artist’s extraordinary career and cultural impact.
The exhibition, organized through a partnership between historian Hayk Demoyan and business leader Ralph Yirikyan, offers visitors an intimate look at Aznavour’s life through carefully curated memorabilia. The collection spans four distinct phases of the performer’s career and includes approximately fifty rare photographs, many previously unseen by the public.
Visitors can examine over one hundred vinyl records in various formats alongside more than thirty original movie posters from French and international cinema. The display also features dozens of magazine covers from publications around the world, spanning five decades from the 1950s through the 2000s.
Additional highlights include commemorative stamps, medals, badges, and postcards celebrating Aznavour’s legacy. Particularly noteworthy are several items bearing the artist’s personal signature, including autographed postcards and record albums collected over different periods.
Following its presentation in Yerevan, a selection of these artifacts will travel to Gyumri for public viewing. After the exhibition concludes, organizers intend to permanently transfer the entire collection to the Charles Aznavour Museum in Yerevan for future display.
The exhibition officially opens on May 22, 2024, at the National Museum-Institute of Architecture named after Alexander Tamanyan and will remain accessible to visitors through July 22nd.
